How to tell if a pearl is fake or real

The forever classic pearl necklace its timeless and trendy at the same time. There are a lot of pearls diffrent colours ,shapes and sizes. But how can you tell its a real or faux pearl. You can find a lot of youtube clips with tips about reconizing the real pearl. Please dont ruin your jewelry by using a hamer or dumping your pearls in vinegar.Even if its a faux pearl its just a waste of your beautiful jewelry.

So first of all there is a diffrence between natural pearl and farmed pearl. The natural pearl will be ofcourse much more expensive due to the natural proces.(This is also not always the case because certain brands can sell cultivated pearls at a much higher price due to design and branding). The farmed pearl is cultivated and the price depends on how many layers the pearl gets into the mussle or oyster. They are both real pearls of course but the farmed ones are cultivated.

The faux pearl is produced by many wholesalers and has less qualtiy.

But how do you tell the diffrence? Take a good look at the shape, weight, colour and texture of the pearl.Natural pearls aren't identical. So in a string of natural pearls there will be diffrence in colour (pinkish or yellowish). Also the pearls can have slightly diffrence shapes they are not perfectly round. If you have to compare with the faux manufactured pearl they will be perfectly round and identical. Also the weight of faux pearls is usually light weighted due to use of artifical materials. Last but not least the real pearl has a ruff feeling to it and not smooth like the fake ones.

I have a lot of pearl jewellery and faux or real it doesnt matter to me I love them all.
